Welcome to the Accelerator team.

This convening represents a critical inflection point in our collective efforts to improve outcomes for young children across the state. We are excited to share space, get to know each other, and take a deep dive into New Mexico’s Data. During the Team Data Chat, we will be sharing statewide Early Development Instrument (EDI) data collected from communities across New Mexico. The EDI provides a comprehensive picture of how young children are developing in their earliest years, helping us identify strengths and areas of need. These data are not just numbers—they are a catalyst to better understand and quantify the stories underpinning our children’s early experiences, and opportunities, as well as to collectively consider solutions to the challenges we face.

The Data Chat format will facilitate an engaging, community-led dialogue among 100 participants from local systems building early childhood coalitions statewide, including educators, policymakers, community leaders, and families. Together, we will explore the EDI findings and collaboratively envision strategies to enhance early childhood development in our state. This convening is more than a presentation; it is an opportunity to connect, learn, and co-create solutions that reflect the needs of our diverse communities.

Prep

Thanks for joining us earlier in the month on Zoom. Here are the resources and "homework" for you to do as you prepare for the main event!

What to Bring

  • Phone and/or Laptop
    • There will be large printed maps during the Data Chat convening but if you would like to zoom in and out of the maps, we recommend bringing your laptop or tablet.
    • We’ll be using online surveys throughout the event. These can be completed on phones, but some prefer to do this on their laptops or tablets.

Homework

  1. Join our Discord server! We’ll have these resources, important announcements, and homework posted on there too, so feel free to leave your questions or reflections online too. Once you join, you’ll have the chance to introduce yourself and explore the platform.

    Join the Server

  2. Review the National Neighborhood Equity Index (NNEI) Dashboard. Start thinking about any questions you may have or anything that surprises you or you expected to see. This will help enrich the conversations you all have with each other for the Data Chat Convening.

A historic first.

New Mexico is the first state in the nation to collect statewide data on children's development. We are so excited to bring all of the coalitions together to collectively analyze the new data collected by our Data Informed Futures team.
