Veronica is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is a Graduate Opportunity Fellowship Program Award recipient. She is a non-traditional, first-generation, Latinx, undocumented student. In June 2023, she received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCLA. Prior to entering higher education, Veronica was involved at her local non-profit organizations where she engaged in community leadership development for community residents, developed meaningful relationships with stakeholders to uplift the communities’ personal experiences and strengths. She took an active role in mobilizing community resources and evaluating strategies to change the systemic conditions that impact children and families. Her career goal is to become a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) to address the mental health disparities in marginalized communities.
