Core Leadership

Wide-scale uptake of interventions to promote flourishing—or positive mental health and well-being—is limited by a lack of robust measurement tools. Building valid and reliable measures of flourishing and health across developmental ecosystems is critical to understand when interventions are needed, by whom, and whether they are effective.

This Core will focus on scaling uptake of the Family Health Scale, a validated innovative measure pilot-tested in pediatric offices through the LCIRN and being used as a common measure across LCT-RN proposed projects. The measure allows for examination of family health trends over time and at the intersection of individual and community health. The Core is currently planning a Scientific Conference on A Life Course Approach to Family Health Measurement to be held in 2025. The Core is also exploring new approaches to measuring individual and family flourishing.
